Setting - The time and location the story takes place in. Setting also includes:
Place - geographical location
Time - time of day, month, period (etc.)
Weather conditions - rainy, sunny, etc
Social conditions - daily life - local colour (culture)
Mood or atmosphere - the feeling conveyed
Theme - the controlling idea or central insight in a piece of fiction - the author’s underlying meaning or main idea being conveyed. Theme may be the author’s thoughts about a topic - or view of human nature
