Impetigo

  • Definition: Impetigo is a common skin infection.

    • Causes: Primarily caused by the following bacteria:
    • Streptococcus spp.
    • Staphylococcus aureus
  • Characteristics:

    • Easily detectable symptoms.
    • Often presents as small itchy blisters.
    • Progression: Blisters may erupt,
    • Leading to the formation of a honey-colored crust.
  • Commonly Affected Populations:

    • Frequently occurs in children, including infants.
    • Can also affect adults in some cases.
