Impetigo
Definition: Impetigo is a common skin infection.
- Causes: Primarily caused by the following bacteria:
- Streptococcus spp.
- Staphylococcus aureus
Characteristics:
- Easily detectable symptoms.
- Often presents as small itchy blisters.
- Progression: Blisters may erupt,
- Leading to the formation of a honey-colored crust.
Commonly Affected Populations:
- Frequently occurs in children, including infants.
- Can also affect adults in some cases.
