• British would eventually fight the institution of slavery

• Products and people would go all ways in the Triangular Trade

Slavery in Colonial America

• Massachussetts would most prminently protest the idea of slavery but change would come slowly

• The demand for cash crops in coloniall America grew, so did the practice of slavery

  • Chesapeake region - tobacco

  • South Carolina - ndigo and rice

• Slaveyr was practiced in all of the AMerican colonies

  • Concentrated in Southern plantations

  • African culture was more preseved in the South Colonies (Gullah Geechee)

  • 16-40s-1660s laws were created to codify slavery and to limit the rights of slaves (Ie Virginia Slave Codes)
