·Origin: Medial orbital margin, and lacrimal bone
·Insertion: Skin around the margin of the orbit
·Levator Labii Superioris: Elevates the upper lip.
·Origin: Infraorbital region of the maxilla
·Insertion: Skin of the upper lip
·Zygomaticus Major and Minor: Elevate the corners of the mouth, creating the classic upward curve of a smile.
·Origin: lateral and posterior surface of the zygomatic bone
·Insertion: (zygomaticus major) skin at the corner of the mouth, (zygomaticus minor) upper lip – just medial to the corner of the mouth
·Levator Anguli Oris: Assists in lifting the corners of the mouth.
·Origin: Maxilla, below infraorbital foramen
·Insertion: Skin at the corner of the mouth
·Risorius: Pulls the corners of the mouth laterally for a broader smile.
·Origin: Fascia over masseter
·Insertion: Skin of the corner of the mouth
·Depressor Labii inferioris: Moves the lower lip downward to show the bottom teeth during smiling
·Origin: Mandible (anterior portion)
