What would be difference between “state” and “trait”?
State: is the quality of a person’s experience; typically temporary or chronic, i.e. is a disorder— when you are affected by something, disorder is
Trait: Who you are, defining characteristic of yourself
Personality is who you are.
personality disorder is an extension (exponential) of personality that is harmful in some way.

They are chronic
Most people just accept that the behavior is just who they are.
High comorbidity with Personality disorders
Generally poor prognosis (is usually ego-syntonic)
Ego-syntonic: Your abnormal, disordered traits are misinterpreted by the individual as normal characteristics of their personality, is who they are
Ego-dystonic
“Kind” vs “
Should not be setting people into groups, but placing them on a scale; to what degree do they have something, etc
Prevalence affects about 10% of general population— however, this depends on how one DEFINES personality disorder.
Paranoid Personality Disorder (Cluster A) is often understudied in addition to being not well understood
associated with early childhood trauma or modeling
Need for control, constantly talking about conspiracy theories
perceived attacks
