New England Colonies

New England Colonies

Introduction

The New England Colonies were in the states of New Hampshire, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Maine. They settled there for a safe place for the Quakers but they then split up. Quakers believed in no violence at all and wanted to spread the word of God.

There were many important people such as Ann Hutchinson, who was executed for trying to spread the word of God, Governor John Winthrop, and more. She was also kicked out of the puritan church. Ann Hutchinson spoke out of the Puritan beliefs which was the reason she got kicked out of the church. John Winthrop was a puritan and he was also against Ann Hutchison.

The people also had small farms but did not have cash crops. They were fishing for whales(Whale Hunting with their spears) for food but this was the natives. They used lumber for shipbuilding.
