    “pulley” and extrinsic eye

    sensory fibers to the face and motor fibers to the chewing muscles

Abducens Nerve VI- Motor

    lateral rectus (lateral eye)

Facial Nerve VII- Both

    facial expression

Vestibulocochlear VIII- Sensory

    hearing and balance

Glossopharyngeal Nerve IX- Both

    throat

Vagus Nerve X- Both

    long nerve that extends beyond the head and neck

Spinal Accessory Nerve XI- Motor

    trapezius and sternocleidomastoid

Hypoglossal Nerve XII- Motor

    “under the tongue”
