Geography Tectonics
There are 7 major tectonic plates.
The most active plate is the pacific plate
Outer core- 2300km thick, 4,400 degrees in temperature, outer core is a liquid,
Inner core- Made up of nickel and iron, It is a solid because of the pressure, The temperature is around 6,000 degrees.
Mantle- 2900km thick, It is 84% of the earth volume, the mantle is solid and is 1000-3700 degrees.
EYJAFJALLAJOKULL- volcano in Iceland,
Types of volcano- Shield volcano, Stratovolcanoes,
Convergent/Destructive plate boundaries- when two plates move towards each other.
Divergent/constructive plate boundaries- when two plates move away from each other.
Conservative plate boundaries-When plates move past each other in different directions.
