    1. has lots of computers and offers tech resources (printing, computers for studying and research, tech service)

    1. offers aids, resources, and services for those who need learning accommodations

    1. free, and for math, writing, and eng subjects (and more like asl)

  1. veterans services

    1. to coordinate the educational benefits of the gi bill for students associated with the military

  1. career services

    1. offers workshops, resume-writing, internships, INTERVIEWEING, DEGREE TRANSFER.. . to help you understand how your education is related to your career of choice.

    1. counselors help with decision making, identifying problems, and problem solving related to academic, career, and personal goals.

    1. just offers ways, connections, and opportunities to enrich your student lie, which increases ur chances of u staying in college and earning ur degree.

  1. transfer services

    1. helps with the transfer process to AZ unis, u get to meet with uni representatives on campus.

academic advisors vs counselors

  • advisors: focused on getting you on the right track to getting your degree + meeting the requirements of your degree; don’t really focus on specific problems of your life that interfere w/ your academic, career, and personal goals.

  • counselors: helps with decision-making, identifying problems, and solution-making related too your academic, career, and personal goals; offers support during any life crisis, small or big.

  1. basic needs and resources

    1. helps connect people in need of basic needs (transportation, food, water, wellness, clothing, etc.)

    2. on time resources - similar to the basic needs and resources, but specific to your school.

  1. campus police

    1. governed by the maricopa police department; offers new advancements in communications

  1. student success coaches

    1. all students assigned an FYE course have success coaches

    2. student success coaches can be either enrolled in the school, or they’ve graduated. either way, they’re here to navigate and solve the common challenges of a student (how to talk to students or teachers, where to get help, how to balance school and life, and how to take notes).

  1. sense of agency

    1. the ability to know that your choices and actions influence your future. gives you confidence to take action + encourages you to ask for help.
