Module 1. Notes for the client service & human relations. Personal hygiene, grooming and dress code
Personal hygiene : Everybody should bathe at least once a day, using soap and warm clean water to remove dirt and bacteria from hair and skin.
Hair, teeth and hand:
Long hair should be tied at the back while at work to avoid falling in the face.
Everyone should brush their teeth at least twice a day.
Hair should no be combed in the public areas.
Correct hand washing procedure :
Wash hands in a hand washing basin & use warm luke water and anti-bacteria soap for at least 20 seconds then rinse.
Personal presentation and grooming:
To be well groomed means to have a neat and tidy appearance.
Hairstyles, bright colours or high fashion in dress are not acceptable.
Makeup should only be worn by woman in the workplace.
Both man & woman should keep their nails clean and neatly manicured at all times.
Fragrances should be light and refreshing.
Perfumes should not be used in an attempt to make body odour.
Jewellery should be simple and kept to a minimum.
Men should be clean shaven everyday and should be neatly trimmed and well kept.
Dress code :
Keep hair clean, neatly trimmed and appropriately styled.
Wear sensible jewellery.
Keep fingernails clean and neatly trimmed.
Wear gloves whenever necessary in the workplace.
Have a clean shaven face everyday unless wearing a neatly clipped moustache or beard.
Woman should wear simple makeup to project a well groomed image.
Maintain a healthy upright posture
Wear a clean and well pressed, regulation uniform.
Check name badge.
Wear closed, clean, polished and comfortable shoes.
Avoid strong fragrances and bathe daily.
Make sure that teeth are clean and breath is fresh.
