Social status is heavily influenced because those who are higher in social status are usually from wealthy families, they are wealthy due to their caste system.

The factors that affect a person's place in Chinese society is the amount of contribution they give. They can be farmers or craftsmen which give food and material which is a lot of contribution but nobody can top gentry scholars as they are the main.

The unique thing about the ranking system is that people are ranked on their contribution rather than their wealth. Greatest opportunity would be the gentry scholars as they are the most respected, wealthy and more empowered.

The oldest male is in charge, and once the woman is married the husband is in charge. She is able to gently correct him. The woman is able to be in charge of children if she is an older sister or mom.

Foot binding is the process of making feet very small and microscopic. Parents bind their daughters feet with silk tightly from a young age.
