Golgi Apparatus- package protein for distribution

Protein synthesis- the production of polypeptides (proteins)

Translation- building a protein using the mRNA as a template

Transcription- the process of making mRNA from DNA

Exons- functional DNA strands

Introns- non-functional DNA

Anticodon- 3 letters of tRNA

Codons- 3 letters of mRNA

primase- attaches the primers to the DNA

mRNA- copies the DNA code in the nucleus and carries it to the ribosomes

tRNA- transfers amino acids tot he ribosomes to make the protein

Primary protein structure- the sequence of amino acids in the polypeptide chain
