Mt Tarawera eruption process
started - 10th of June 1886 just after midnight
many earthquakes were felt in the area
1:30 am the northern most peak (wahanga) had erupted
2:00 am a large crack appeared in the ground that ran from Mt Tarawera to the current Waimangu Valley
2:30 am the southern most peak (tarawera) started erupting and a large lava column had sprouted in Waimangu Valley
3:30 am Lake Rotomahana became an eruption site with a large lava column that when collapes destroyed the pink and white terraces and created the new shape of the lake
at around 6:00 am the entire volcanism process had stopped and
