Forming the League of Nations

The League of Nations was formed based on Woodrow Wilson's Fourteen Points and aimed to maintain peace and encourage cooperation.

The League had Two Main Aims

  • Encourage Cooperation

    • Solve economic and social problems

The League was made up of Various Parts
  • Covenant (Agreement) of 26 Articles

      • The Permanent Court of International Justice

      • The Secretariat

  • Membership

    • 42 countries joined initially

    • Around 60 countries were members in the 1930s

    • Tell a country it was wrong

    • Attack against one country is an attack against all

    • Use armies of member nations against aggressors
