  • Disclosure: the act of making something evident

  • Poignant: keenly distressing to the mind or feelings

  • Unprecedented: not known, experienced, or done before

  • Reedy: tall and thin, or a sound that's high-pitched

  • Tentatively: Uncertainty

  • Abominable: as bad as it gets

  • Threshold: the starting point for a new state or experience

  • Impending: close in time; about to occur

  • Solace: comfort offered to one who is disappointed or miserable

  • Conspicuous: obvious to the eye or mind

  • Ailment: an often persistent bodily disorder or disease; a cause for complaining

  • Encroach: Advance beyond the usual limit

  • Succession: to describe things that follow one another, as well as the order in which they do so

  • Ruse: a deceptive maneuver (especially to avoid capture)

  • Commiserate: feel or express sympathy or compassion

  • Phantasm: something existing in perception only

  • Rhetorical: you don't necessarily expect an answer, but you do want an occasion to talk about something.

  • Bluster: blow hard, as of wind - talk loud, aggressive

  • Sterile: incapable of reproducing

  • Folly: the trait of acting stupidly or rashly

  • Palliative: Moderating pain or sorrow by making it easier to bear

  • Irrevocably: There is no going back

  • Addled: Confused and vague; used especially of thinking
