Why am I here?

CSP (1) - Anonymous decision, iatrogenic damage

Can I progress? Following the demonstration today of attendance, and safe practice of the stated task in your feedback

CSP (II) - Again, data is anonymous and collected looking at, recording of experience and iatrogenic damage. YOU MUST check your feedback when signing out to ensure your task is recorded fully

The task you may re-visit today...

Pulpotomy with interproximal and occlusal reduction for PMC - URE

Advanced composite layering

Re-implant avulsed anterior, place a trauma splint and remove

The plan

Pulpotomy

  • URE

  • Open the URE (occlusal prep)

  • Your depth should be to expose the pulp (The teeth you have will present the red pulp ‘stumps’ when you have accessed adequate depth (Check with supervisor)

  • Fill with Kalzinol

  • Reduce the interproximal contact points enough so that you have opened the contact points allowing a probe to fit through avoiding iatrogenic damage on neighbouring teeth (Check with supervisor)

  • Place the PMC for URE in place (No cement)

Advance composite

  • Please refer to the step by step guide on canvas for the session

Trauma splint

  • Remove the UR1 or UL1

  • Re-implant the avulsed incisor and then obtain a putty matrix being careful to not cover the buccal surface (Supervisor check)

  • Manipulate the splint to curve and composite bond to one tooth either side of the avulsed tooth ensuring the composite is smooth and not too bulky (check with supervisor)

  • Remove the splint without Iatrogenic damage (Check with supervisor)
