Brain Waves
- Definition and Characteristics
- The human brain is comprised of billions of communicating neurons that constantly generate detectable signals known as brain waves.
- These brain waves can be measured effectively by focusing on neurons located near the surface of the brain, primarily those within the cerebral cortex.
- Electrodes are strategically placed on the forehead and scalp to record brain activity through a technique called an electroencephalogram (EEG).
Types of Brain Waves
Alpha Waves
