Planning of Boycott:

  • No outcome of Persecution and Torture
  • Conversion of Hamza (RA) and Umar (RA)
  • Gathering of Quraysh leaders → Social boycott
  • Pact (Document) →Written by Bagheed →signed by whole leadership → Posted inside Kaabah ( Religious manipulation )

Application of boycott:

  • Exile (Certain people would mark houses of the boycotted, other team would attack, barge in) → Forced to live in open air prison → Humiliation
  • Financial exploitation →Abu Lahab would order traders to create artificial inflation

Food shortage: Kids would cry for food, people ate leaves, Companions swallowed ashes of animal skin, Companion ate something from the ground

Movement against Boycott:

3 Non Muslims:

  • Abul Buktari, Mutim bin adi, and Hashim bin amr.
  • They started raising their voice against the boycott
  • Gave a secret food supply to Shaibe Abu Talib
  • Fingers of Bagheed got paralyzed

Movement gained momentum after this

Miracle of Prophet and end of Boycott:

  • Allah informed Prophet (PBUH) → Document of Bagheed has been eaten by termites →Word “Allah” was untouched → Rest was eaten up by termites

Visit to Taif:

Causes:

In 619 AD, Abu Talib and Khadija died. This caused loss of tribal protection and loss of emotional support. Prophet had an unsatisfactory outcome of Preaching for 10 years, so he went for a search for better audience.

Events:

Prophet had a meeting with the leaders of Taif. Masood, Abd Yalil and Habib. He received a very harsh and negative response. Slave ==Zaid bin Haritha== accompanied Prophet on this journey and did public preaching with Prophet for 10 days. They received threats and rejection. Prophet was humiliated, abused, dragged, pelted by stones and driven out of Taif. His response: “ O Allah forgive them. They don’t know what they are doing.”

Aftermath:

Angel Jibrael ( AKA Angel of mountain ) offered Prophet to destroy Taif. Prophet was merciful and replied, “May Allah allow them to beget children who worship one God.” Prophet went to a refuge by orchard of ==Utbah and Shaybah== . They sent a Christian slave named Addas with water grapes. Addas was from the City Of Nineveh, also known as City of Younus. Addas had converted to Islam because of Prophet. Prophet had returned to Makkah under protection of ==Mutim bin Adi==

Israa and Mairaj:

When? 620 A.D.

Why? Because of the year of grief and failure at Taif. And for the Motivation and comfort of Prophet

Israa (The night journey), from Makkah till Jerusalem

Prophet was woken up by Angel Jibrael and taken to Hateem. Over there, there was an animal waiting, which Prophet was going to use as a ride. It was Burraq, a horse like animal, it travelled at the speed of light. Prophet stopped at 4 places: ==Yathrib, Sina, Madyan, Beit-ul-Lahm== . At Jerusalem, Prophet went to Mosque Aqsa where he found all the messengers of Allah, the area where they met was called ==Beit-ul-Maqdis== where they prayed 2 Rakats which was led by Prophet ( The leader of all Prophets)

Mairaj ( Ascension ):

Prophet rode Burraq and Ascended through the 7 heavens. Prophets were on each heaven: ==1- Adam (AS), 2- Yahya (AS) and Jesus (AS), 3- Yousuf (AS), 4- Idrees (AS), 5- Haroon (AS), 6- Musa(AS), 7- Ibrahim (AS).== On the 7th heaven, the kaabah of Angels was there ( Bait-ul-Mamoor ). Seventy thousand angels perform their first and last visit on daily basis ( Everyday brand new angels are created and are only present for that one day). Prophet was taken to the highest point in the heavens which is known as ==Sidra-tul-Muntaha (The Lote Tree)== . No creature has ever been there, not even any angel, NOT EVEN ANGEL JIBRAEL. Prophet was also taken to the “Command and control center of the world” which was known as ==Sareef-ul-Aqlaam== where there was a pen writing stuff.

Prophet observed Hell and had a meeting with gatekeeper Malik. He noticed that those who did adultry would be burned alive; those who had greed wanting to get more; those who did backbiting, his face was mutilated by angels.

Prophet observed Paradise and had a meeting with the gatekeeper Ridhwan. He observed": 1. The honest and true leader, 2. Mujahideen, 3. Spend in the way of Allah.

He later then had a meeting with Allah, which was the face to face revelation (the final verses of Surah Baqarah were revealed) and Allah gifted 50 prayers to Prophet but then Prophet prayed 45 and left 5 of them. He returned to Makkah only to find out that ==his bed was still warm and his door knob was still moving ( The thing hanging on the door)== .

Response of Quraysh:

Prophet was mocked by makkans. These people went to Abu Bakr and told him the story without telling him that it was Prophet. Abu Bakr at first without knowing who did it said that it was fake news, but once he found out that Prophet Muhammad travelled through the skies, he said that it is the truth. This is when Abu Bakr was given the title ==“Al-Siddique”== . The Makkans still didn’t believe him so Prophet had predicted the future in which he predicted that the merchandise of makkans will reach them. Once his prediction was right, quraysh still didn’t believe him and said, “ You are a magician”

Spread of Islam in Yathrib:

First Conversion of Yathrib 619/10th Year of Prophethood

Prophet converted Eyas bin Maaz in this year.

Second conversion from Yathrib 620/11th Year of Prophethood

6 pilgrims from Yathrib were converted to Islam, they promised to spread Islam in Yathrib.

First Pledge of Aqabah 621/12th Year of Prophethood

There were 12 converts in which 5 were old converts and 7 were new. Prophet had told them 5 promises: ==1.Oneness, 2.Obedience, 3.Not Stealing, 4.Not kill children, 5.No Adultry.==

Second Pledge of Aqabah 622/13th Year of Prophethood

In this year there were 75 converts in which most of them were women which is why it is also called “Pledge of Women”. Prophet had given 5 promises to them too: ==1.Obedience of Prophet, 2.Defending the Prophet, 3.Charity, 4.Fear no one but Allah, 5.Enjoin good, Forbid Evil.==
