  • Boston Massacre (1770): British soldiers fired into a mob; 5 colonists killed.

    • Paul Revere used it as propaganda to inflame anger.

  • Tea Act (1773): Actually lowered the price of tea—but gave British East India Company monopoly.

  • Boston Tea Party (1773): Protesters dumped tea into Boston Harbor, led by Sons of Liberty.
