from 127 hours: between a rock and a hard place, Aron Ralston
Aron ralston, solo hiking in a narrow Utah Cannon, has his right hand crushed and pinned by a dislodged folder (choke stone) wedged between the walls. Chimmney across the slot test the rock, he triggers its full; in slow motion panic, the boulder ricochets, smashes his left hand, then severe and trapped his right arm at the wrist, tearing skin and leaving it dangling in the tiny gap.
Paralysed by shock and agony, Ralston Yanks for futilely at his pinned arm, screaming in desperation. Adrenaline surging, he braces his body, heaves against the boulder with knees and shoulder, but it won’t budge – leaving him trapped, alone, and facing grim odds in the remote canyon.
