Benign prostatic hyperplasia-Prostate enlargement caused by an overgrowth of prostatic cells or tissue that tends to cause urinary symptoms.
Chordee-A congenital condition of the penis in which the head of the penis bends abnormally.
Circumcision-The surgical removal of the foreskin from the tip of the penis.
Cryptorchidism-Condition in which one or both of the testes did not descend into the scrotum. Undescended testicle(s).
Epispadias-A congenital deformity of the penis in which the urethral opening, or meatus, is found on the top or upper portion (epi-) of the penis rather than the usual opening through the tip of the penis.
Erectile dysfunction-The inability to get or maintain an erection.
Gleason score-Grade assigned by a pathologist to indicate the growth rate and aggressiveness of prostate cancer and how likely it is to spread. The lower the number, the slower growing and less aggressive a tumor is.
Hypospadias-A congenital deformity of the penis in which the urethral opening, or meatus, is found on the underside (hypo-) of the penis or the perineum rather than the usual opening through the tip of the penis.
Orchiectomy-Surgical excision of a testicle (orchie/o-).
Phimosis-A condition in which the foreskin is too tight to be retracted over the glans of the penis. Circumcision may be necessary to treat severe cases.
Priapism-Prolonged erection that lasts more than four hours.
Prostatalgia-Pain in the prostate.
Prostatectomy-Surgical removal of part or all of the prostate gland.
Prostatic hypertrophy-Prostate enlargement caused by an increase in the size of prostate cells, rather than the growth of new prostate tissue.
Testicular torsion-A twisting of the testicle inside of the scrotum, which may interfere with the blood flow to the testicle causing the tissue to be deprived of oxygen.
Vasectomy-Form of male sterilization by which the vas deferens is cut or punctured to prevent sperm from being ejaculated.
