Historic building you have been to
Well, this topic reminds of the independence palace of HCM city, one of the must-visit places for tourist who come to Saigon. To the best of my knowledge, this palace covers a large area in the heart of district one, in HCM city. If my memory serves me right, this building was designed by a famous architect, Ngô Viết Thụ and it is considered as a masterpiece of architecture. It used to be the home of the government leader, the president before 1975. Inside, the palace holds immense historical value as it was the site where the Vietnam war officially ended in 1975, marking a pivotal moment in the country’s history. When you visit, you can explore its spacious hall, conference rooms and even the private quarters of the former president. After the Independence day in 1975, this palace was converted into a museum for local people and even tourists to come for a visit. These days, it is an icon reminding all citizens about ancestors’ victory and also their sacrifice for the country’s freedom. Every year, this place attracts thousands of tourists both from Vietnamd and other parts of the worlds. On special occasion, it is also a favourite site for public events such as the nation funerals or public celebrations on Indepenence Day. In fact, many schools often hold visits to this palace for students as a way to provide lively historical lessons for children and young people. From my personal perspective this historic site, plays an improtant role in the history of our nation and it should be well preserved for the future generations
