Describe the significance of the paschal candle at Catholic baptism

Firstly, paschal candle is used to bless the baptisms font, which dipped 3 times in the font. the quote ‘may all who are buried with Christ in the death of baptism rise also with him to the newness of life. this signifies that it is through Christ all are saved; Baptisms is the ‘doors’ to the church.

secondly, at a baptism, the paschal candle is lit and placed beside the font as a reminder of the risen Christ who gives a new / eternal life through him.

lastly, from the paschal candle, a smaller baptismal candle is it and given the candidate as they ‘receive the light of christ’
