Language Compliance as a Concept
Compliance refers to behavior that is influenced by requests or demands.
Two categories of compliance:
Retro compliance: based on historical or settled behaviors that influence current actions.
Affording compliance: influenced by accessible figures or inherent desires.
Principles of Compliance
1. Consistency
Humans have an inherent desire to maintain consistency in their thoughts and actions.
This principle can be exploited in marketing and persuasion contexts.
