• Jesus influences the importance of peace. Isaiah ‘prince of peace’ ‘blessed are the peacemakers’ showing that god prioritizes peace so it should be worked towards everywhere

• Gaudium et Spes ‘peace is the faith of love’ it will only be achieved when we learn to respect and appreciate the dignity of others (imago dei)

Jews

• Greet each other with ‘shalom’ peace is important as they have suffered e.g Holocaust so work for peace

• Sometimes war is justified as in the Tenakh God often sides the Jews in war

• Messiah will bring the Messianic age → a time of peace and prosperity
