EPISTEMOLOGY

  • Epistemology: is the study of knowledge. It focuses on evaluating claims people make when they say they “know” something.

  • What is knowledge?

    • facts, information, and skills acquired through experience or education; the theoretical or practical understanding of a subject.

  • What is the difference between between knowledge and opinion/belief?

    • Knowledge: based on facts. evidence and understanding - it can be supported and justified.

    • Opinion/belief: what someone thinks or feels is true, but it may lack evidence or proof.

  • If you know something, does that mean you are certain about it?

  • Is knowledge really possible?

TWO TYPES OF EPISTEMOLOGY

  • RATIONALISM:
