HERD HEALTH PLAN

Herd Health plan needs: Owner Info, Physical address, Vet Contact info, Current herd/flock info, production targets (goals), month-by-month calendar with general management, feeding, and health.

Make sure to track cattle vaccines, withdrawal time, and medication.

The herd health plan just needs a who, what, when, where, why, and how

VCPR

Vet-client-patient-relationship.

Vet to the client is to understand your goals, diagnose and evaluate animals

Vet to the patient is building trust with the animal, diagnosing the animal/providing treatment, using proper handling, slowly building trust

Client and Patient build trust with the animal and raise a high-quality food product.

The client and vet set up a farm visit with the vet, tell the vet the project goals, follow the vet's order, and have up-to-date records.

PREVENTING DISEASE

Disinfect and sanitize everything during a show

Dont share anything you brought during a show

Clean and disinfect the inside and outside of the trailer after a show

Quarantine animals 30 days after a show

WILLFUL ACTS OF ABUSE

Willful=To do something on purpose

The willful act of abuse Abuse against an animal that a person purposely enacts

Ex: Withholding water and food, restraining them, not letting them move, not providing animals with medication or shelter.

If you see abuse, report it.
