Lung Capacity - Lab Content

Tidal Volume (TV): The amount of air moved in and out during normal breathing, sufficient for resting oxygen needs.

Inspiratory Reserve Volume (IRV): Extra volume inspired above tidal volume.

Expiratory Reserve Volume (ERV): Extra volume expired below tidal volume.

Vital Capacity (VC): Maximum air moved in and out of the lungs.

Residual Volume (RV): Air volume remaining after maximum expiration.

Total Lung Capacity (TLC): Volume of air in lungs after maximum inspiration.
