Physics: Acceleration
Definitions
Acceleration: a rate at which an objects velocity changes w/ time. vector measurements
Displacement: distance from starting point
Acceleration due to gravity: the rate at which an object speeds up as it falls freely toward the earth
Dropped: Vo is 0
Velocity: the speed of an object and its direction of motion
Q: if you calculate the slope of a distance vs time graph, what are you “really” calculating?
A: velocity
Q: if you calculate the slope of a velocity vs time graph, what are you “really” calculating?
A: acceleration
On a velocity vs time graph, what does it mean when the graph goes flat?
A: constant velocity
