ADHD Medications and Psychostimulants Overview:

• Amphetamine sulfate: Usual daily dose 2.5-40 mg; used for obesity, narcolepsy.

• Clonidine: Usual daily dose 0.05 mg up to 25 mcg/kg/d; for hypertension, tics, Tourette’s.

• Dextroamphetamine: Usual daily dose 5-60 mg; indicated for weight loss, narcolepsy.

• Guanfacine (Intuniv™, Tenex®): Usual daily dose 1-4 mg; used for hypertension, tics, Tourette’s.

• Lisdexamfetamine (Vyvanse™): Usual daily dose 10-70 mg; indicated for binge eating disorder.

• Methamphetamine: Usual daily dose 5-25 mg; for exogenous obesity.

• Methylphenidate (Adhansia XR™, Aptensio XR™, Concerta): Usual daily dose 5-60 mg; used for weight loss, narcolepsy.

• Viloxazine (Qelbree™): Usual daily dose 100-200 mg; acts as an antidepressant, also for narcolepsy and nocturnal enuresis.
