  • Who is Jesus Christ?

Jesus Christ is central to the Christian faith as the son of God and the savior of humanity. His life and teachings are recorded in the New Testament, particularly in the four Gospels - Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.

  • Key Stories or Events

    - The Birth of Jesus: Jesus’s miraculous birth to the Virgin Mary in Bethlehem is celebrated by Christians as the Incarnation, the moment God became flesh. (Matthew 1:18 - 25, Luke 2:1 - 20).

    - Baptism and Temptation: At the start of His ministry, Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist and and then withstood temptations by Satan in the wilderness demonstrating His purity and commitment to God’s will (Matthew 3:13 - 17, 4:1 - 11).

    - Teachings and Miracles: Jesus taught through parables and sermons, such as the sermon on the Mount, and performed many miracles, like healing the sick, raising the dead, and feeding the 5,000, to show His divine authority and compassion (e.g., Matthew 5-7, John 6:1-4).

    - Crucifixion and Resurrection: The central event of Jesus’s life is His crucifixion, death, and His resurrection. He was crucified under Pontius Pilate, died for the sins of the world, and rose again on the third day, offering salvation to all who believe in Him. (Matthew 27 - 28, Mark 15 - 16, Luke 23 - 24, John 19 - 20).

  • Virtues and Lessons

From Jesus’s life we learn about unconditional love, sacrafice, forgiveness, and obedience to God. His teachings encourage us to love our neighbors, seek God’s kingdom, and live righteously. He exemplifies humility and service, washing His desciples feet and ultimately laying down His life for others (John 13:1 - 17, Philippians 2:5 - 8).
