13.2- A Definition of Persuasion
Process of creating, reinforcing, or changing people’s beliefs or actions
Symbolic process in which communicators attempt to convince other people to change their attitudes or behavior in a message
13.3- Why is Persuasion Hard?
Persuasion is hard because society as a whole has a bias against change due to comfort of established norms and routine, fear of loss, and comfortability of the known with creates a sense of security that makes people resistant to new ideas and perspectives
