OPGW Outage Works

  • Circuit: DHMG 400kV OHL feeder (Bay reference: C01) and TWPS 400kV OHL feeder (Bay reference: C39)
  • AJPV-3 Bays: DHMG bay #C15 and TWPS bay #C05 will be LILO (Line In Line Out).
  • Objective: Energization of AJPV-3 by LILO of DHMG OHL and TWPS OHL.

Energization Stages of DHMG OHL and TWPS OHL

  1. ESF Readiness:

    • Date: February 15, 2026
    • Purpose: Preparation for DHMG-TWPS OHL shutdown for outage.
  2. OTDR for OPGW:

    • Timeline: 3 weeks after outage date (March 8, 2026)
    • Scope: DHMG - AJPV3 gantry and TWPS - AJPV3 gantry.
  3. Fiber Optic Cable Splicing and Telecom Communication:

    • Location: AJPV3 gantry
    • Objective: Establish telecom communication up to LDC/ECC (Load Dispatch Center/Emergency Control Center) via DHMG or TWPS.
    • Testing: End-to-End Telecom Test between Main Station (AJPV3) and LDC/ECC (3 days), witnessed by TT (presumably a testing team).
  4. Telecom Communication Link Establishment:

    • Date: March 15, 2026
    • Scope: Connection between AJP3 to LDC & ECC.
  5. SCMS Integration:

    • Date: April 15, 2026
    • Scope: AJP3 - Station level SCMS (Substation Control and Monitoring System) signals and commands integration with LDC.
    • Verification: Internal testing/verification of handshake between AJP3 SCMS and LDC.
  6. OHL Loop Connections:

    • Dates: February 15, 2026 - April 15, 2026
    • Scope: Complete OHL Loop in /Loop out connections for AJPV-3 DHMG bay #C15 and TWPS bay #C05.
  7. Documentation and Energization Clearance:

    • Dates: February 15, 2026 - April 19, 2026
    • Activities: Documentation, energization checklist completion, and energization clearance acquisition.

Protection and Telecom Modification Works at Remote Ends

  • Locations: DHMG & TWPS, TRANSCO HQ2 or ARC/TCC Building/ TCAMC and Unit-III Pumping Station (ETCC)/ ETCAMC.

1. DHMG SS (Substation):

  • PTW (Permit to Work): Issued for 400kV DHMG SS by a Telecom competent person.
  • Disconnection: Disconnect and isolate power / control cables and patch cards from existing telecom panels.
  • Panel Replacement: Dismantle existing telecom panels and install new telecom panels.
  • Cabling: Cabling and switch on 48VDC supply for new telecom panels.
  • Pre-commissioning: Pre-commissioning checklist and internal test report.
  • Reporting: Submit internal telecom test report to TRANSCO telecom for approval.
  • Commissioning: Telecom panel Commissioning works and SAT (Site Acceptance Test) witness.
  • RTU Text Changes: RTU (Remote Terminal Unit) Text Changes at 400kV DHMG SS.
  • Bay Name Changes: Bay name changes at overall MIMIC's.
  • Integration: Integration of Protection Relays to RTU including Telecom signals.
  • Relay Settings: Modification / Final Settings and Scheme Checks of Main 1 & Main 2 Relays at 400kV DHMG SS.
  • Protection Works: Protection related works & Control wiring modification works and Scheme Checks at remote ends.
  • Relay Testing:
    • Main 1 Relay Component testing and Final setting adoption and Testing-DHMG.
    • Main 2 Relay Component testing and Final setting adoption and Testing-DHMAG.
  • Protection Scheme Checks: Protection Scheme and trip logic checks.
  • Bay Name Changes: Bay name changes at SCMS, FMS, LCC, GIS & Gantry areas (if required).
  • FMS Works: FMS (Facility Monitoring System) works and integration with master stations.
  • End to End Testing:
    • Main -1 & Main -2 End to End Testing (Secondary Injection)-for Circuit DHMG-AJPV3.
    • Protection End To End By Secondary Injection-DHMAG to AJP3.
  • Final Trip Test: Relay Final Setting final Trip Test including AR (Auto Reclose) cycle test -DHMG to AJP3.

2. TWPS SS (Substation):

  • PTW: PTW for 400kV TWPSSS Telecom System modification and Testing at 400kV TWPS SS by Telecom competent person.
  • Disconnection: Disconnect and isolate power / control cables and patch cards from existing telecom panels.
  • Panel Replacement: Dismantle existing telecom panels and install new telecom panels.
  • Cabling: Cabling and Switch on 48VDC supply for new telecom panels.
  • Pre-commissioning: Pre-commissioning checklist and internal test report.

  • Test end to end test between AJPV3 and TCAMC & ETCAMC.

4. Unit-III Pumping Station (ETCC)/ ETCAMC

  • Telecom System modification and Testing at Unit-III Pumping Station (ETCC)/ ETCAMC.
  • Telecom Module configuration.
  • Test end to end test between AJPV3 ETCAMC.
