Health and wellbeing:
Refers to the state of a person's physical, social, emotional, metal and spiritual existence and is characterized by an equilibrium in which the individual feels happy, healthy, capable and engaged.
Subjective:
Means different things to different people. Based on personal experiences.
Dynamic:
In a constant stage of change. Change can occur slowly or quickly
Illness:
Illness relates to negative aspects of health and wellbeing.
Disease:
A physical or mental disturbance involving symptoms dysfunction or tissue damage
Injury:
Physical damage to the body caused by violence or accident. Can include drowning, burns and poisoning.

Relates to the functioning of the body and its systems; it includes the physical capacity to perform daily activity's or tasks.

Freedom from illness, disease or injury

Relationship between the dimensions of health
The five dimensions of health and wellbeing are related because they all affect each other. A change in one dimension will usually have some effect of the other four.
Optimal health and wellbeing as a resource:
Refers to having high level of health and wellbeing in all five dimensions , or it can refer to achieving any of the characteristics or dimensions on their own.
Therefore optimal health and wellbeing can be used as a resource, to enhance peoples experiences and improve their lives.
Optimal health and wellbeing for individuals:
Can mean living without disease or injury, and therefore free from pains, which allows them to focus on working, studying or socializing. It can promote positive emotions and reduce stress and anxiety.

The individual benefits of optimal health and wellbeing can be translated into national befits such as,
