- Explain the importance of physical activity in daily life and its implications for kinesiology
- Discuss the rationale for the discipline of Kinesiology, its structure, and types of knowledge in the field
- Defend the integrative nature of kinesiology
- Identify Kinesiology’s main sub-disciplines and their major research themes
- Identify professional occupations and career options for kinesiology graduates; list qualifications for each
- Describe the structure of primary options within CSULB Kinesiology and other programs

- 2 exams; each with 50 questions; 50 points each; 100 total
- Non-cumulative; scantron required: 882E; no notes, laptops, or cell phones allowed
- Midterm: 10/10 at 10:15am; Final: 12/12 at 10:15am

Course Policies
- Communication: Instructor available during office hours or by appointment; respond to emails within 24 hours; if no response within 72 hours, follow up with a second email and include name, class, and subject
- Late Work: Papers may be submitted up to 24 hours after deadline without penalty; after 24 hours, 50% deduction if no prior communication; after 48 hours, papers will not be accepted; quizzes and exams exempt from this policy
- Attendance & Excused Absences: Excused absences include illness/injury, immediate family issues, religious reasons, jury/military service, and university-approved activities; notify at least one week in advance for religious or military obligations
- Academic Integrity: Cheating and plagiarism policies with potential actions ranging from reprimand to final failure or referral to Judicial Affairs
- Civility & Classroom Climate: CSULB promotes civil, non-violent learning; cell phones not allowed in class
