Policy Agenda - issues, problems that are currently at the forefront of our policy makers, is metaphorical

Models:

→ Kingdom Three Streams → convergence of these three streams

  • Problems - attention lurches to policy problem

  • Policies - a solution to the problem is available

  • Politics - government and party priorities come in, policymakers have the motive and opportunity to turn solution into policy

  • contains politically relevant incidents plus formal policy conversion & historic-geographic ocnditions, soceio-economic composition, mass political behaviour, governmental institutions, elite behavioour to make a policy output

Public Sphere - conceptual format to help understand society

Incrementalism is the status quo, doesn’t necessarily have to be for or against

    • Racist, xenophobic but also needed the immigration for tourism, economic reasons, labour, workforce. Important, one, de-escalate racist rhetoric and increase ethnic diversification, immigration program
