Physical Properties of Metals
Physical Properties of Metals
- Malleability: Ability to be hammered or rolled into flat sheets.
- Ductility: Ability to be drawn into long wires.
- Malleability and ductility are due to the easy movement of valence electrons.
- Thermal Conductivity: Ability of an object to transfer heat, metals are generally good thermal conductors.
- Electrical Conductivity: Ability of an object to carry electric current, metals are generally good electrical conductors.
