Digestive System

  • Primary Organs of the Digestive System
    • The main organs form a long tube referred to as the GI tract (Gastrointestinal Tract).

Muscle Types

  • Voluntary Muscles:

    • Another name for voluntary muscle is Skeletal Muscle.
  • Involuntary Muscles:

    • Involuntary muscles can be categorized as either:
    • Cardiac Muscle
    • Smooth Muscle
    • Therefore, other names for involuntary muscles are Cardiac and Smooth.

Nervous Systems

  • Electrochemical Signals:
    • The nervous system generates special electrochemical signals known as Nerve Impulses.

Integumentary System and Accessory Structures

  • Accessory Structures of the Skin:

    • Components include:
    • Hair
    • Nails
    • Sweat Glands
    • These are referred to as accessory structures of the skin.
  • Non-accessory Structures examples (incorrect choices):

    • Sweat glands and Oil glands are accessory, but spinal cord and heart are not related.
    • Nails and Hair are part of the accessory structures, while blood vessels and joints are unrelated.
