- Primary Organs of the Digestive System
- The main organs form a long tube referred to as the GI tract (Gastrointestinal Tract).
Muscle Types
Voluntary Muscles:
- Another name for voluntary muscle is Skeletal Muscle.
Involuntary Muscles:
- Involuntary muscles can be categorized as either:
- Cardiac Muscle
- Smooth Muscle
- Therefore, other names for involuntary muscles are Cardiac and Smooth.
Nervous Systems
- Electrochemical Signals:
- The nervous system generates special electrochemical signals known as Nerve Impulses.
Integumentary System and Accessory Structures
Accessory Structures of the Skin:
- Components include:
- Hair
- Nails
- Sweat Glands
- These are referred to as accessory structures of the skin.
Non-accessory Structures examples (incorrect choices):
- Sweat glands and Oil glands are accessory, but spinal cord and heart are not related.
- Nails and Hair are part of the accessory structures, while blood vessels and joints are unrelated.
