VI PARAGRAPH WRITING

Choose one of the following topics and then, write an expository stand-alone paragraph based on the topic you selected. Clearly state which topic you selected. 36 pts

Structure: Your paragraph must contain a Topic sentence, at least 3 Major and at least 3 Minor Supporting Sentences, and a Concluding Sentence. First, create an outline and then develop a paragraph.

Coherence, cohesion, and unity: Your paragraph needs to observe all three, i.e. proper cohesive devices, no irrelevant sentences, and logical flow of ideas.

Register: Your paragraph needs to be written in a formal register

Length: The paragraph should be a minimum of 12 and a maximum of 20 sentences long.

Style: Make sure to vary in the sentence types you use (simple, compound, complex)

Accuracy: Properly punctuate, spell, capitalize, etc.

You are allowed to use printed dictionaries.
