Campus Events and Housing Contact

  • Signature Events:
    • Residence directors and resident assistants will guide students to campus events.
    • Class photo at UFCU Stadium is a highlight.
  • Housing Office Contact:
    • Open Monday to Friday, 8AM to 5PM.
    • Located next to San Jacinto Hall and across from Ingram Hall.
    • Look for the "SuperCal" logo.
  • New Student Orientation Day Two:
    • "Moving guys" handouts at Browse from 10:15 AM to 11:00 AM.
    • Housing holds can be lifted, and questions answered at the Browse session.
    • The housing office remains open.
  • Housing Tours (Tomorrow, 12PM - 1:30PM):
    • Drop-in basis at the lobby of assigned residence halls.
    • Guided tours by housing ambassadors.
    • Showcasing laundry, kitchens, showrooms, and resources.
  • Castro Hall:
    • Not available for tours due to active construction, but will be open in the fall.
    • Cibolo Hall offers a similar floor plan for reference.
    • Furniture details are available on the residence hall page.
    • Updates and pictures will be posted on the website throughout the summer.
  • Alamedo Hall:
    • The tour starts at the lobby of Cibolo Hall (where the sleeping bobcat is).
  • Staying Connected:
    • Follow social media (Facebook, Instagram) for important dates and updates.
    • Updates on Castro Hall will be posted there.
    • The goal is to reach 10,000 followers for a giveaway (currently 69 followers away).
    • Email and phone contact are available Monday to Friday, 8AM to 5PM.

ID Services

  • Photo Submission:
    • Visit the ID Services office downstairs next to the Bobcat store.
    • Breaks at 2:45 PM and 3:45 PM are ideal times.
  • ID Pickup:
    • IDs will be available for pickup tomorrow at Alkek Library.
    • Checkout begins at noon and continues until 5:00 PM.
    • Avoid picking up IDs during Welcome Week or the first week of school due to long wait times (2-3 hours).
  • Importance of Bobcat Card (ID):
    • Dorm access: Required for entry into residence halls (keys are for individual rooms).
    • Meal plans: Loaded onto the card for students living on campus (excluding Bobcat Village and apartments).
    • Attendance: Some professors use card scanners for attendance tracking.
  • Office Hours:
    • Monday to Friday, 8AM to 5PM.
    • Closed from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM during NSO to catch up.
  • Contact Information:

    • Email responses are typically provided on the same business day (excluding weekends).

Dining Services

  • Meal Plans:
    • Maroon 7, Gold 14, and Bobcat Unlimited.
    • Correction: Bobcat Unlimited offers seven swipes per week (not one per day).
  • Meal Swipes:
    • Used at all-you-care-to-eat dining facilities: Commons, Harris, and the Den Dining Hall Express.
    • Buffet style with consistent options like hamburgers and hot dogs daily.
    • Menu changes daily with themed nights (e.g., Mexican night, Italian food).
  • Retail Swipes:
    • Value of 8.698.69.
    • Accepted at retail locations like Chick-fil-A and Panda Express.
    • Cannot be used at Starbucks, food trucks, or ShakeSmart due to point of sale system limitations.
  • Food Trucks:
    • Two permanent food trucks: Ampa Empanada and a barbecue spot.
    • Two rotating food trucks for variety.
  • Dining Dollars:
    • 1 to 1 dollar value.
    • Included in meal plans (300 dining dollars in the two larger plans, 400 in the smallest).
    • Can be used at locations like Dunkin' Donuts.
  • Bobcat Bucks:
    • Never expire (unlike dining dollars).
    • Can be used at some off-site retail vendors.
    • Recommended to have at least 2020 on the account for ID replacement fee.
    • ID replacement fee is 2020.
    • Replacement fee cannot be put onto the student bill.
    • Accepted payment methods: cash, credit card, or Bobcat Bucks.
    • Dining dollars expire at the end of the semester.
