BLEED: when the image goes beyond the border of the page
CAPTION: words that provide narration, usually found in a rectangle.
CLOSE UP: a panel zoomed in on one particular part for emphasis, usually for emotion
CLOSURE: inferences you make about what happens between panels
ESTABLISHING SHOT (WIDE): a far-away panel to establish setting
FRAME: the outline of the panel
GRAPHIC WEIGHT: the way some images pull your attention more than others (esp with line/color)
GUTTER: the space between framed panels
LAYOUT: the overall organization of everything on a page to tell a story
MEDIUM SHOT: the most common panel type that shows the character from the waist up
MOTION LINES: lines that show movement
ONOMATOPOEIA: sound effect words
PANEL: the box or part that contains images and/or text
SPEECH BUBBLE (BALLOON): words said out loud by a character (dialogue)
THOUGHT BUBBLE (BALLOON): words in a cloud shape to show a character’s inner thoughts
