Korean Syllables

ㄷ - (d/t) more of a tuh sound

ㄱ - (g/k) more of a kuh sound

ㄴ - (n)

Remember how we make syllables with consonants and vowels?

Let’s see how that works with the vowel ㅏ(a)

Note: consonant shapes can change a little in syllables.

ㄱ (g) + ㅏ (a) = 가 (ga)

ㄴ (n) + ㅏ (a) = 나 (na)

ㄷ (d) + ㅏ (a) = 다 (da)

a singer / ga-soo = 가수

a leg / da-ri = 다리

a tree / na-moo = 나무
