Argue, persuade or explain

Usually you are given a statement to argue against, prove or evaluate.

DO

• Direct address

• Rhetorical questions

• Facts and statistics - doesnt have to be true

• Quotes or short anecdotes

DONT

• Overuse the same points

• Abbreviations

• Ignore the format

EXAMPLE STRUCTURE

Intro and hook - clearly state your view

Point 1 - persuasive techniques and presenting your viewpoint clearly

Point 2 - offer a counterargument and refute it

Point 3 - relate the argument to the real world or real life events

Conclusion - summarise the point, main message, and close with an impactful statement or rhetorical question
