Tarsal Bones of the Foot
The human foot consists of 7 tarsal bones that help form the ankle and midfoot. These bones are important for mobility, stability, and support. The seven tarsal bones include:
1. Talus
The talus is situated above the heel bone (calcaneus) and is crucial for the ankle joint.
It articulates with the tibia and fibula, allowing for movement in the ankle.
2. Calcaneus
Known as the heel bone, it is the largest tarsal bone.
