Enzymes

Enzymes is a group of complex proteins produced by living cells that act as a catalysts in specific chemical reactions in the body, such as digestion.

Catalysts mean that they make the chemical reactions faster. (Something that speeds up a chemical reaction without being used or changes by the reaction itself).

Enzyme is a type of Protein but also a chemical, so it’s a specific type of molecule: a protein molecule.

It’s not like enzymes have a different species “, they are all enzymes but the digestive enzymes are the jobs assigned for that function of digestion. What makes one a “digestive enzyme” is simply the job it’s assigned.
