Structural Organization of the Nervous System
The human nervous system is structurally and functionally organized into hierarchical divisions to control bodily functions, process information, and maintain homeostasis.

Central Nervous System (CNS):
Anatomical structures: Consists of the brain and the spinal cord.

Peripheral Nervous System (PNS):
Anatomical structures: Composed of cranial nerves (extending from the brain) and spinal nerves (extending from the spinal cord).
Primary function: Serves as communication lines connecting the CNS to all other parts of the body.

Composition: Somatic and visceral sensory nerve fibers.
Function: Conducts sensory nerve impulses from internal and external sensory receptors to the CNS for integration.
