Positive Airway Pressure (PAP)
Non-invasive positive airway pressure (PAP) systems use air to keep airways open with a mask that delivers mild air pressure.
PAP is used to treat sleep disorders in adults, children, and infants.
It helps balance oxygen (O2) and carbon dioxide (CO2) levels in the blood.
Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) provides a steady pressure during both inhalation and exhalation to keep the airways open.
Intermittent Positive Airway Pressure (IPAP) changes air pressure while the patient breathes in and out.
Automatic Positive Airway Pressure (APAP) adjusts pressure throughout the breathing cycle based on the patient's patterns.
All systems require air pressure delivery through a mask fitted onto the patient's face.
