• Changes: Cars, telephones, radios, electricity, airplanes.

• Impact: Improved communication, faster travel, better living conditions.

5. What pull factors led to people immigrating to Canada? Was everyone welcome? Why or why not?

• Pull factors: Jobs, land, freedom.

• Not everyone was welcome: Racism and discrimination, especially toward Asians and Eastern Europeans.

6. Identify and describe at least THREE things that affected the lives of Canadians in the 1900s.

• Industrialization – More factories and jobs.

• Urbanization – More people moved to cities.

• New Technology – Cars, phones, and radios changed everyday life.
