- served as priest before Lord, sang + danced before God in liturgy
- was “a man after God’s own heart”
David: Eschatologically
- points to/foreshadows Jesus
- “To smear oil” or “anointed” refers to Messiah (Hebrew) or Christ (Greek)
- Jesus is also anointed by God
- wrote about sufferings in Psalms
- many became prophecies of sufferings of Jesus

- house of God = temple
- God promises to build David a dynasty/family
- also refers to a house
- descendants = build temple
- fulfillment of promises made to Abraham
- David’s son/descendants will “rule over Israel forever”
