EduPing: A Quantitative and Developmental Study of The Use of Mobile Application for Student–Faculty Communication at San Beda University-Rizal

Provide real-time updates, announcements, and notifications to both students and faculty members with the development of EduPing.
Improve the way the school communicates to the Bedan community with essential information—making it faster, easier to access, and more reliable.
Address issues such as delayed announcements, slow communication, technical problems, or last-minute schedule changes.
Specific aims:
- determine the perceptions and feedback of users from San Beda University-Rizal (SBU) Senior High School regarding the development and use of the app;
- design and develop a user-friendly, efficient, and accessible mobile application tailored to the needs of the school community; and
- improve the overall flow of information within the school by delivering timely updates and notifications.

In today’s digital age, almost everyone uses their phone to check updates and stay connected to important messages and announcements.
In school settings, students and teachers need to get announcements right away.
Updates from the school website can be late or difficult to find and navigate.
EduPing aims to give students and faculty real-time updates, reminders, and school announcements right on their phones.
Cited support: mobile apps help students access information easily, stay engaged, manage tasks, and navigate more effectively (Ahmad, 2021).
The project aims to modernize school communications and ensure announcements are posted quickly and easily to the Bedan community.

This study aims to examine how the app influences communication, accessibility, and user experience.
Research questions focus on understanding user perceptions, measuring effectiveness, and identifying impact on daily communication habits:
1. What are the perceptions and experiences of students and faculty regarding the use of a mobile application (EduPing) for receiving school announcements and updates at San Beda University, and how can the researchers make use of the results?
2. What are the key priorities for the design features and usability factors in developing a user-friendly, efficient, and accessible mobile application for the San Beda University-Rizal school community?
3. How does the use of EduPing improve the delivery and reception of essential school updates and announcements compared to existing communication methods?

Benefits: students, faculty, administrators, and parents by introducing EduPing to deliver real-time updates and notifications.
For students and parents: access to class schedules, school announcements, event reminders, and urgent advisories to stay well-informed and respond promptly to changes (Digital, 2023).
For faculty: a reliable tool for receiving essential updates, reporting technical issues, and coordinating academic activities more efficiently.

Method type: Quantitative Method with an experimental design to evaluate EduPing’s effectiveness in improving communication within San Beda University-Rizal.

- Outcomes to be measured before and after the introduction of the mobile application.
- A website-based questionnaire will be administered to randomly selected students and faculty members.
